Citrus County Department of Development Services reorganizes and eliminates five positions. The Department of Development Services implemented a reorganization of the department on Friday morning, which resulted in the elimination of five budgeted positions. Vince Cautero, Development Services Director, completed his evaluation of the department and decided to reorganize responsibilities and assignments to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The positions identified in the reorganization include Planning Division Director, Flood Management Coordinator, Senior Planner, Senior Secretary and GIS / CADD Technician. Expected long term savings are projected to be approximately $300, 000 annually. The employees affected willreceive assistance by the Human Resources Department in finding alternative employment.
Citrus County Animal Services first annual BFF – "Best Friend Fest" - An Animal Adoption Extravaganza - will be held at the Citrus County Auditorium on Saturday, February 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Citrus County Chronicle and the Humanitarians of Florida, is dedicated to promoting adoptions and educating the public on ways to care for their furry friends. The focus will be on education, awareness, and increasing adoptions. Citizens will have the opportunity to meet neighborhood veterinarians, enjoy one-on-one with prospective groomers, or just come to share that common thread – the affection we all have for our pets. Face painting for the kids too!
Join us Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Central Ridge Library from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. for the 2nd Annual Love Your Library Evening, sponsored by the Library Advisory Board. Enjoy an evening of live music, wine, catered hors d'oeuvres, and silent auction. Specialty baskets will also be raffled off, as well as a beautiful, handmade "Author" throw quilt. Tickets are $20 per person and are available at every library branch. Each ticket includes two complimentary glasses of wine.
Citrus County Utilities has kicked off the 2012 rebate program. Offered to its' utility customers on an annual basis, rebates of up to $100 are issued as incentive to replace older inefficient fixtures with high-efficiency products. Qualifying products include replacing old toilets, rain sensors and clothes washing machines, as well as adding moisture sensors to irrigation systems. [Application]
Citrus County Department of Development Services, Building Division announces there will be no Inspections or Plans Review on Monday, February 13, due to a required Continuing Education Class, for new building code changes that come into effect on March 15th.
Billy Lindsey as "ELVIS" at Citrus Springs Community Center.Shake, Rattle and Roll at Elvis Event - There will be a "Whole Lotta Shakin" Goin' On - at the 3rd annual Elvis show starring Billy Lindsey at the Citrus Springs Community Center on Saturday, February 18th. This interactive walk down memory lane is sure to leave you 'All Shook Up'. So, 'Don't Be Cruel' and put on those 'Blue Suede Shoes' for a night of singing, dancing and great entertainment. Doors open at 5:00 PM and the show begin at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $5.00, and must be purchased in advance at the Citrus Springs Community Center. Hamburger and Hotdog plates will be available for purchase. Only 300 tickets will be sold.
8th Annual Kids Fishing Clinic - February 25th. Teaching children a lifelong hobby, appreciation for our marine environment and a fun family outing are the objectives for the Kids' Fishing Clinic. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Citrus County Parks and Recreation present a FREE Kids' Fishing Clinic for children between the ages of 5 and 15 on Saturday, February 25th. |
