The Planning Division within the Department of Development Services is the resource section for transportation planning in Citrus County.
We work hand-in-hand with other local governments, the Florida Department of Transportation District 7, the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority, the Withlachoochee Regional Planning Council and the West Central Florida MPO Chairs Coordinating Committee (CCC), an organization of area Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO), to ensure that local and regional transportation priorities are coordinated with land use.
Citrus County became a member of the West Central Florida MPO's Chairs Coordinating Committee in October 2006 for the purposes of participating in the Transportation Regional Incentive or TRIP Program.
