Office of Operations & Projects

Below is a list of some of the duties & responsibilities of the Office of Operations & Projects:

  • Conduct internal evaluation of programs and operations to identify areas of improvement and cost savings
  • Facilitate internal coordination between Departments & Offices on projects, grants and shared services
  • Oversee and coordinate training
  • Evaluate GIS and other technological tools to improve efficiency, asset management,  inventory tracking and service
  • Assist in the creation of a centralized records management system to improve records retrieval and reduce duplication and storage demands
  • Seek partnerships and coordinated program enhancement with other agencies including the Constitutional Offices, the cities, State & Federal agencies, and private sector interests
  • Update the County’s Administrative Regulations
  • Assist in ordinance drafting or revisions
  • Identify additional grant or service sharing opportunities
  • Identify and implement “ Green Solutions “ to reduce costs, reduce impacts on the environment and improve efficient use of resources
  • Track annual legislation and economic changes and project needs or costs resulting from same
  • Coordinate annual collection of Key Performance Indicator ( KPI ) data
  • Coordinate preparation of the Annual Legislative Delegation Report
  • Coordinate preparation of the SWFWMD Cooperative Funding Grant Program
  • Serve as staff to the Citrus County Transportation Planning Organization
  • Serve as staff to the Historic Resources Advisory Board
  • Serve as staff to the Stakeholder’s Advisory Group
  • Serve as staff to the Citrus County Port Authority
  • Assist in  staging of the Citizen’s Academy program
  • Serve as liaison to Progress Energy Florida on plant upgrades, retrofits and new projects
  • Manage CCA contract for operation of the Citrus County Detention facility
  • Serve as liaison to State & federal agencies on updating their Management Plans
  • Serve as Administration liaison with the Economic Development Council and the Citrus County Partnership Alliance
  • Monitor other governments to identify new or improved ways of providing service
  • Assist in development of a regional solution for solid waste collection, recycling and disposal
  • Serve in a public outreach capacity to local organizations through guest speaker requests
  • Assist in public education and public input on proposed regulations and projects
  • Liaison with Citrus 20/20 and other groups to identify and track Key Performance Indicators for County programs
  • Coordinate preparation of a Disaster Recovery Plan
